Picture of Jim Booth Jim Booth is a database software developer currently employed by WebMD.com. In a previous life Jim was an independent developer specializing in database software. He has written a number of books on the subject of Visual FoxPro software development with various coauthors and has been technical editor for books on Visual FoxPro programming and database software development. Jim has also written many articles for a number of technical journals for database software development. He has spoken at conferences in the US, Canada, and Europe. Jim has addressed many user groups both in the US and Canada. He has also taught programming in Visual FoxPro in the US and Europe.

He has been honored by Microsoft with the Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award every year from 1993 through 2003. Jim has also successfully completed the Microsoft certification process and is a Microsoft Certified Professional.

WebMD.com, Jim's employer, is a company that publishes medical information electronically. Jim works in the eMedicine division of WebMD, eMedicine not only publishes electronic media but they also author the medical information with a web based system. Jim is a senior developer for the company.

Jim lives in Connecticut with his wife Carole and his three sons Vincent, Edward, and Louis. The family shares their home with four dogs named Scootie, Hannah, Mister O (See his picture), and Daisy Mae, three cats named Little Shoe, Shlomo, and Marion Kirby, two rabbits named Daryl and Larry (his other brother Daryl died), and a cockatiel named Chicken.
